Halloween Hazards for your Dog
The folks at the dogchannel.com are recommending all dog owners to "bone up" on possible Halloween hazards before your beloved pup scares you out of your wits! First, although kids and adult people love candy, most of it is harmful if not dangerous to the health of your dog. Keep your candy out of their reach (or leap!) because too much candy can cause pancreatitis and chocolate especially is highly poisonous to dogs. Also the wrappers can get stuck in their abdominal tract. Did you know raisins are verbotten with your pup? Although they are healthy for people, they can cause kidney failure in dogs! Even though there are some fresh pumpkin treats for dogs available, they cannot have the seeds of the pumpkin, the shell or the seeds of squash! Also, if you decide to dress your pup up for ridicule on Halloween, take into consideration how well the costume fits, and if it is too restrictive or loose. You might have to practice "dressing up" before the big night.
